Knowledge vs Experience
Every graduate faces this situation in their life during the early years of there job. Various firms, industries, and companies prefer experienced person over a newbie. So, the question arises is why there is such a thing, the newbie might be more knowledgeable than the most experienced person in that company. Let’s see what exactly these two words mean, knowledge is something that one can get from books, teachers, the internet, and many such sources whereas learning from experience means learning a thing with its application as well as its practical life pros and cons.
It’s quite evident that both terms associates with learning but the approach towards it is different. Consider when you were learning to drive a car, the trainer just tells you where is accelerator, brake & clutch. But how much to press the pedal, exactly when to hit the brakes so that your vehicle stops at a particular spot when to change the gears its exact time is known only when you drive by yourself i.e. the experience. Initially, everyone fumbles while driving but as time passes and your practice will make you drive as smooth as a hot knife through butter.
So, the answer to the very question of the college graduates is recruiters tend to get trained people more. As they are already gone through difficult tasks, circumstances at their workplace. The solution to this is we should try to execute our knowledge in the practical world making small projects and many such things that will help to make anyone’s work more effective. One of my friends during his internship at a reputed company he reduced the efforts of the labours by automating the task. This is what everyone must try to do. Thus, your efforts will be paid back to you one day. Stay positive throughout & believe in yourself!
